Here is why.  Well over 90% of the training dollars spent each year by companies and organizations are not actually spent on training.  Those dollars are spent on Education.  As good as that education may be...the purpose of education is to increase knowledge.  But that doesn't necessarily mean you can actually DO anything differently.  You just KNOW more.  Most of us already know far more than we are using.

Training creates
a behavioral change.

Most people invest in TRAINING to accomplish one of three possible results.

  • To INSTALL A BEHAVIOR you don't have that you WANT to have.
  • To REMOVE A BEHAVIOR you do have that you DON'T want to have.
  • To ENHANCE A BEHAVIOR you have that is not as strong as you would like it to be.

To make any behavioral change
requires just four
fundamental elements. 

  1. You need to have a very clear picture of what you would like the resulting skills and activities to look like. 
  2. Those skills and activities need to be measurable. 
  3. We need to be able to establish a baseline that clearly tells you where you are right now.
  4. You'll need to use a systematic training program that not only tells your people what they can be doing, it shows them how to do it, allows them a chance to PRACTICE the necessary skills, and provides pro-active, positive coaching that truly holds your people accountable for their new-found skills.
